There are experiences that go far beyond simply building flight hours.

Experiences that truly transform a student pilot into a captain capable of making decisions, adapting, handling unexpected situations and facing real-world flying far outside their comfort zone.

It is with this spirit that our five student pilots — Thomas, Filippo, Luigi, Alessandro and Riccardo — departed aboard the two Tecnam P2010 TDI aircraft “I-CNTM” and “I-CNTX” for “Operation Iberia”: a mission across Europe inspired by what was known as the “Cantor Explore” project. The goal was clear: to experience aviation as a true operational journey, going far beyond Italian borders and beyond the limits of standard flight training.

An itinerary built leg by leg through Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, alternating at the controls of the aircraft and sharing every phase of the journey: flight planning, weather management, fuel planning, international navigation, ATC communications, FIR crossings and operational coordination between crews.

This was not simply a trip, but a truly immersive training experience.

Today, many flight schools limit training to local operations and standard “hours building”.Experiences like this, instead, allow student pilots to face real operational flying: international airports, different procedures, continuous operational management and constantly changing scenarios, far from the routine of everyday training activity.

Every leg became an opportunity to develop operational awareness, decision-making skills, adaptability and crew coordination in real-world scenarios.

From our operational base in Valbrembo (BG), across the French coastline, through southern Spain and Portugal, and back to Italy, our students managed the mission with increasing autonomy, operating the aircraft as real crews rather than simply students accumulating hours.

From Barcelona to Valencia, from Seville to Lisbon and the Spanish Atlantic coast, every stop became much more than just a destination: it was an opportunity to grow, adapt and develop the true aviation mindset that can only be built through operational experiences of this level.

It is exactly through experiences like these that flying changes dimension: no longer just training, but personal growth, teamwork and the real construction of aeronautical experience.

Because becoming a pilot also means this: stepping beyond your own borders, facing new challenges and learning to feel at home… wherever there is a runway.
